Nagano Pref., Obuse Town’s 一般財団法人日本笑顔プロジェクト has opened nuovo, a unique amusement park and learning space that highlights the town’s key industry of agriculture while offering hands-on disaster-focused activities. By riding in a buggy, learning to operate an excavator and more, beginners of all ages can enjoy themselves as they acquire disaster prevention knowledge and skills. The facility has certified 1,000 heavy equipment operators to date – many have engaged in actual on-site emergency support.
